Orlando-based metalcore outfit Dark Divine has crafted their most introspective offering to date with new single "Make Me Disappear," out on Friday, May 23rd via Thriller Records. Complete with a music video, this new single dives into the vulnerability that comes with a search for purpose and meaning, as well as the focus on the journey versus the destination. After captivating their audience with last year’s deluxe edition of Deadly Fun, Dark Divine is ready to dive further into the evolution of their sound.
On the new single, Dark Divine mentions:
“‘Make Me Disappear’ is a song about purpose. The process of finding and pursuing purpose is the very thing that gives it value. However, we can feel lost when we feel that our goals have been achieved. Where do you go from there? The journey is often more important than the destination and purpose is cultivated by the sense of doing, not necessarily by the completion of one’s goals.”

What happens when you reach your goals only to find yourself asking, “now what?” Exploring the heavy questions of whether our lives have genuine meaning or if we’re simply “telling stories we don’t believe.” Dark Divine confronts this universal fear that we might be heading towards emptiness despite our achievements and questions what happens when purpose seems to evaporate after reaching our goals. The band doesn’t shy away from examining toxic relationships either, addressing how past connections continue to haunt us long after they’ve ended. The emotional weight of these interactions becomes a central theme, with the song exploring the price we pay for participation in destructive patterns.
