EIDOLA Share "Prodigy" Video, Album "Mend" Arrives January 17 Via Blue Swan Records & Rise Records

Eidola, who recently announced the January 17 release of "Mend", the Salt Lake City-based band’s follow-up, and counterpoint to the 2024 album "Eviscerate", have shared a second single from the 13-trackalbum with today’s release of “Prodigy” and an accompanying video.

“’Prodigy’ is about pursuing your passions to the highest extent possible while navigating theself-doubt and ego trip that comes along with it,” Andrew Michael Wells, shares. “It’s amessage for anyone who’s ever had a dream in life and argued with the voices in their headtelling them they should quit. The song is a dialogue between a creator and their own innermonologue telling them they’re not enough or they’re way too much. In the context of Eidola,it’s the final time we break the fourth wall and present an overture about the psychological journey it took to get wherewe are now.”

The clip, directed by Wells and bandmate Sergio Medina, features Wells on a motorcycle, with the album covereidola ridingalong as a playful passenger, ribbing Wells about his hair andencouraging a visit to Dave & Buster’s.

While "Eviscerate" delved into darker themes of loss, grief, and despair," Mend"explores redemption and healing against a more melodic and uplifting musical canvas. This dynamicduality, representing both light and dark, speaks to the band’s exploration of the humancondition in allofits complexity.Produced byStephan Hawkes (Chelsea Grin, American Me)and recorded in North Hollywood, Calif., the album promises a fresh evolution for the Salt Lake City-based band.
