It's taken a decade, but Brutal Assault's line-up finally welcomes mournful kings MY
DYING BRIDE and one of doom metal's key bands. It took even year longer for
Swedish veterans VOMITORY to return to Josefov, and after 12 years they have a
new album. Also returning to the walls of the fortress are grindcoreers
TERRORIZER, who will be playing "World Downfall", one of the most iconic records
of the genre, this summer with David Vincent and Pete Sandoval!
Also returning among the walls of the 18th century fortress are progressive
Ukrainians JINJER with their femme fatale Tatiana Shmayluk, Irish atmospheric
instrumentalists GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT, and essential death metallers
INCANTATION, whose music has inspired much of the old school death metal revival
in recent years.
But enough of the comebacks, half of the festival's varied line-up is made up of
premiere acts. These will be played in the current addition by Americans NECROT,
who are bringing to the surface what they enjoyed about death metal in the 90s, and
progressives BORN OF OSIRIS, who have contributed to the technicization and
progression of metalcore and its transformation into deathcore.
The festival will once again be held in Josefov in the 18th century military fortress in
the second week of August from 7 to 10 August 2024 and will feature about 130
bands from all over the world.
New bands: Born Of Osiris, God Is An Astronaut, Incantation, Jinjer, My Dying Bride,
Necrot, Terrorizer, Vomitory.
