DAYTIME TV - Release New Single ‘Jessica’ On Kartel Music Group

Today, (23rd May 2023) Scottish alternative band DAYTIME TV have released their new single ‘jessica’ on Kartel Music Group. Watch the video for "jessica" below!

The single was recorded with Luke Potashnick at the hallowed Wool Hall in Frome Somerset, and is the first of new music to come from DAYTIME TV throughout the year. It captures their penchant for soaring melodies and anthemic choruses that are ready-made for this summer's festival fields.

“I realised there was nothing stopping me from saying painful things out loud” Vocalist Will Irvine comments on the track “That felt like a big corner to turn as a songwriter and opened up all sorts of other dark wells and distant lights. It’s been pretty mad delving into the past and digging up those nostalgic memories, for better or worse. Sometimes a happy memory can be the saddest thing because it’s gone.

I don’t like thinking about “what might have been”. It’s pointless and doesn’t help anyone, but if your brain goes there it’s hard to reel it in. That sudden feeling that you’d do anything to turn back the clock and re-run something. It can be bittersweet looking back”.

‘jessica’ lands off the back of DAYTIME TV’s recent support to Blue October throughout Europe, which took them to venues in Germany, Amsterdam, The Czech Republic and Poland. To date, DAYTIME TV have also shared stages with the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, Pearl Jam, The Wombats, The Amazons, The View and The LaFontaines, alongside performances at TRNSMT, Mad Cool and Y Not Festival. Further live shows will be announced soon.

2022 saw the release of DAYTIME TV’s debut album nothing’s on but everyone’s watching. Recorded with GRAMMY®-nominated producer Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Twin Atlantic, Lower Than Atlantis), the LP gave DAYTIME TV the opportunity to take their sound to new heights, boasting an incredible fusion of gargantuan alt-rock with undeniably contagious and feel good choruses. The record gathered support and accolades from BBC Radio 1, Amazing Radio, Kerrang! Radio, Rock Sound, DORK, The Scotsman & more.
