CELESTIAL SON - Present Brand New Single "City of Man"

Danish electronic progressive rock trio CELESTIAL SON sets out to uncover the unexplored and exciting intersection between modern synth-wave, 80’s pop, the 70’s progressive art-rock and 90’s melodic grunge. While gearing up for the release of their coming full-length album 'Planetaria', the trio now present their third single 'City of Man' - check out the accompanying music video, directed by Tobias Scavenius, above.

“Since I was a little boy, I have loved the big 80s electronic art-pop records. On our track, City of Man, I wanted to mix that 80s style with electronica and prog and make a sort of electronic progressive pop tune with a modern take on weltschmerz in the lyrics. Many people today feel lonely in the city, although we are so many who live here. I see a clear tendency of people wanting to break out of this feeling, and that is what this song is about. It is also about accountability and being responsible for your own happiness - pointing the thumb back at yourself rather than the index finger at somebody else. Accompanying the single is a funny but beautiful music video portraying a lonely and washed-up superhero who transforms back to his former strength as he finds the courage to face his loneliness. It was so much fun to make, and I can’t wait for you to see it", vocalist and songwriter Rasmus Sjøgren muses.

Since being founded in 2003, CELESTIAL SON has released the EP ‘Misanthropia’ (2007), and two albums, ‘Doors of Perception’ (2011) and ‘Saturn’s Return’ in 2015. During the years, the band has toured extensively both nationwide and abroad, garnering a lot of admiration for their captivating, candid and astonishingly tight performances. In 2022, the band will be getting ready to release their third LP ‘Planetaria’, which has been produced by the bands very own Rasmus Sjøgren.

The new single ‘City of Man’ is already available on all streaming services.
