DEAD LAKES - Release Radiant New Single and Visualizer "Wrong Way"

Seattle, WA - Dripping with vibrant tones and doused in an intoxicating neon-soaked ambiance, sparks fly as Dead Lakes hit the ignition, launching into their latest sonic chapter by way of glistening new single ‘wrong way.’

Out today via SharpTone Records, the dynamic track emerges as the Seattle quartet’s first official offering since the group’s 2020 EP New Language, and vocalist Sumner Peterson, guitarist Max Statham, drummer Chon Adam, and bassist Cody Hurd waste no time catapulting listeners down a luminous highway of sound and emotion.

Produced by Sam Guaiana (Silverstein, The Devil Wears Prada), alluring hooks, moving lyrics, and edgy rock elements take center stage, further expanding on Dead Lakes’ crisp alternative-rock-meets-pop attitude with a thoughtful twist. And, according to the band, it’s no coincidence that ‘wrong way’ mimics the feeling of contemplating one’s life from an introspective third person perspective.

Speaking on the inspiration and message behind the song, vocalist Sumner Peterson shares:

Dead Lakes finished our first label release right when the pandemic started. We weren’t able to tour off the [New Language] EP, and because of this, we all had to develop normal people routines, jobs, etc. Not being able to tour and continue my usual lifestyle made me really lose myself for a minute. Lyrically, this track represents my current perspective on society and how it affects me.

Incorporating a mixture of stylized animation and live action footage, fans can also enjoy a striking sensory experience courtesy of the track’s accompanying visualizer.
