Revolver and Inked have partnered to bring you stories on some of the world's best tattooers and tattoo shops, including New York City's East Side Ink. So when Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals were in Brooklyn last fall to play a crushing hour-long set at Saint Vitus Bar, Revolver hosted a contest where one fan would win the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get a Philip Anselmo–inspired tattoo of their choice done at the shop. Winner Matt Monahan, a fan of all of the frontman's musical projects, decided on artwork based on the Illegals' debut album, Walk Through Exits Only, because the LP was very special to him personally. Watch East Side Ink tattooer Jess Mascetti begin to work on the piece, before Anselmo himself grabs the tattoo machine and carefully adds his contribution to Monahan's leg.
