InRetrospect - Share New Single Video "substrate."

InRetrospect release their new single ‘Substrate’ on 21st January 2022. It kickstarts the band’s new cycle and is partnered with an epic music video that showcases the band’s fresh direction, image and style. Watch the video below!

Throughout this energetic first single, we have focussed on exploring and pushing the boundaries of our sound after solidifying our grounds in a heavier environment. In doing so, we have created an opening track that's as explosive as it is creative and exciting to listen to. Driven by destructive yet catchy rhythm sections, exciting guitar leads and a wider range of vocal styles, Substrate aims to speak from the perspective of consciousness, out of touch with an individual that can’t see the mistakes they’re continuously making. The pain and emotion that goes alongside this track was captured perfectly by Mike Bennett (Foxhound Studios) and visually by Shaun Hodson (Loki Films) and has since become a favourite amongst the band. Substrate is the metaphor carrying the message of addiction, relapse and the inability to overcome the urge and need for substance. Not all people in this situation are written off by any means, most of the time they’re just merely misunderstood and need someone to help them hit reset.” - James Bayliffe

InRetrospect animate their core beliefs in a relentless barrage of harmonious noise. The band strives to challenge the anguish that we as a species impose on the world around us so willingly, without ever considering the consequences. InRetrospect is a collective aiming to change the insatiable existential crisis known as the modern world. Illustrating soundscapes that display themes of mental deterioration, emotional hardship and pain in its truest and most extreme form, the band deliver their message for change. Utilising their anger, passion and energy not only in the studio, but also in their live shows, they captivate audiences with a thought-provoking and ground-shaking aplomb.

InRetrospect have shared stages with Death Blooms, Blood Youth, Monasteries, Gassed Up and more, and also played at Burn It Down Festival in 2021. The bands previous singles have deservedly garnered support from BBC, Amazing Radio, Primordial Radio, Distortion Radio, ARFM, The Faction, Idobi Radio, Heavy Mag, GigRadar, Total Rock Radio, HM Magazine, Ollie Winiberg and more. Furthermore, the band have had support from Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, Pandora, Tidal and Apple music, surpassing 160,000+ streams on Spotify alone. 2022 sees the band continuing to tour intensely, sharing stages with the likes of Spoiler, Tyrants, Majin and more.
