OCEANIS - Release New Single "...Of Flesh"

UK Metalcore quintet Oceanis have arrived to bludgeon you to death with big riffs and larger-than-life choruses. Armed with chest-pounding melodies and mythological lyrics, "...Of Flesh" is a track the band thought might not ever see the light of day. When they decided to revisit the song and give it a proper release, they got together in a room and hashed it out instead of going back and forth via emails (old school, right?).

"At the time we wrote the song, it stuck out and didn't fit with our sound, but as we've evolved it seems to fit better," says vocalist Joe Maryanji. "Lyrically, the track is about a cult who are aware that the Greek Titan Oceanis is returning to end the world. It is also a metaphor for how war changes the world."

The horror-style music video feels like a trailer for a new Resident Evil game. Maryanji is captured in a room, spiraling into madness as he belts out the track's lyrics of impending doom.

Referencing influences such as Gojira, Lamb of God and Mastodon, Oceanis meld these different sub genres together resulting in brutal riffs and unpredictable song structures. After formation, Oceanis won a nationwide battle of the bands that earned them a place on the 'New Blood' stage at Bloodstock Festival. Off the back of this success, they shared stages with Sikth, Sylosis and Heart of A Coward and released their second E.P Totality, which showed the new more focused song-driven dynamic of the band. Since last year, Oceanis has released four tracks which form the basis of their ambitious concept E.P The Universal Constant.
