The band commented:
"We Will Go Down is the ultimate doomer anthem, exploring feelings of complete hopelessness in regards to the state of the world and how people around you feel. The lyrics in the chorus came from a conversation where vocalist Joar joked around with his friend Martin about the fact that it feels like everyone is gonna die and everything is shit so the only thing we can do is play music until the ship sinks. So the lyrics are kind of sarcastic in a way 'cus it's supposed to be taken as a dark joke."
