MOON TOOTH - Announces "Violent Grief Sessions"

Long Island rock band Moon Tooth have announced they are releasing "Violent Grief Sessions" via Pure Noise Records Featuring live versions of both covers and original songs, the audio for the upcoming release was taken from their recent KNOTFEST.com premiered intimate acoustic event of the same name, which can be streamed on YouTube.

A stand out from the EP is the band’s cover of “Fast As You Can” by Fiona Apple. “I’ve wanted to cover ‘Fast As You Can’ from the moment I first heard it but the thing that really convinced me it had to happen was a live video that came as a bonus for the ‘Idler Wheel’ album. The chords for that verse riff always struck me as being very heavy and her vocal delivery is always so raw and in your face” shares guitarist Nick Lee. “I originally wanted to do it as a loud, full-band Moon Tooth cover (which maybe can still happen, who knows?) but when we were talking about covers for the live acoustic session it was the perfect opportunity to give it a shot. The most fun part of preparing this acoustic set for me was improvising solos over that instrumental verse at the end”.

In addition to today’s release, fans can check out recently released "Violent Grief: Acoustic Selections". The five-track EP is comprised of brand new track “Six of Swords” and four songs from the band’s critically-acclaimed 2019 release "CRUX".

Machine (Lamb of God, Every Time I Die, King Crimson, Clutch) and Lamb of God’s Mark Morton worked on the pre-production of "Crux". The album tells the story of the band at this crucial point where the past must die so new life can begin. The album was officially released on March 29th, 2019, and received over 100,000+ streams in its first week. It also hit the Billboard charts, reaching #13 on Heatseekers, #23 on Hard Music, #43 on Indie Label, #62 on Digital Albums, and more.
