After Ontario, Canada natives Æpoch made a significant splash in the death metal scene with the 2018 release of their debut album, Awakening Inception, the group has worked at a frenzied pace to unleash their next sonic salvo upon the world. On July 31st the group released a new EP, The Scryer.

Building upon their well-developed style of progressive death metal that incorporates influences from thrash, melodic death metal, old-school death metal, and modern/technical death metal, The Scryer is yet another innovative and exciting effort from Æpoch with much to enjoy across its six scintillating tracks. The band once again partnered with esteemed artist Justin Abraham (Equipoise, Singularity, Inanimate Existence, etc.) to deliver a stunning visual accompaniment that compliments the band's unique musical vision.

Æpoch - The Scryer will strongly appeal to fans of groups who the band cite as sources of inspiration which includes Abysmal Dawn, Job For A Cowboy, Obscura, Revocation, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Gorod.

Æpoch Bassist/Vocalist Brett MacIntosh's statement about The Scryer "The lyrical content on The Scryer consists of topics similar to what we have touched on in the past, such as history inspired topics, corruption of society, and the breakdown of the atmosphere/environment.

At the original time of writing the songs on The Scryer the main influences were Death, Through The Eyes Of The Dead and Abysmal Dawn, and much less progressive and technical than our more recent influences. Our next album will be a bit more tech, like Awakening Inception.”
