THE HUMAN VEIL - Release New Video "Fractures"

The Human Veil, a 5-piece from Manchester, have been on a journey since 2018 to provide the metal world with a new wave of heavy metalcore, and began 2020 with fresh new music offering structured ambience and complexities over unforgettable melodies and hook-lines.

The bands next single ‘Fractures’ follows on from their first 2020 single ‘8612’, and is the title track to their recently announced upcoming ‘Fractures’ EP (available on 14th August).

Inspired by the story of Hannibal Lecter, The Human Veil attempt to portray a sobering correlation between the human condition and the current state of the world as we know it.
The band name, ‘The Human Veil’, referenced from the Hannibal quote, “Maybe it’s less of a person suit and more of a human veil” is also referenced within the lyrics of the ‘Fractures’ single as a relation to the concept of the song, which is heavily based on human and machine, and the irony that human beings could lose their humanity and become more barbaric than artificial beings — who are supposed to be the ones that lack emotion.
Matt Wall, vocalist of The Human Veil, said, “When talking about wearing a persona or a ‘version’ of ones self to hide what is underneath, I wanted to quote the band name in a track, and it seemed to fit perfectly in ‘Fractures’.”

Matt also has a very personal backstory for the single about his own struggles with depression and dissociation. “Fractures speaks about how I could fully lose myself and not understand why; why I spent a lot of my life feeling like an outsider and feeling a loss of identity, which lead to some self-destructive behaviours, failed relationships and addictions. It takes a long time and hard work to figure out who you really are, overcome your demons, and to be truly present.” Matt also admits, “I did not understand what I was trying to say at the time of writing ‘Fractures’ because I was so deep in it, but hindsight paints a picture of the struggles I had and have now overcome. It is probably the most important song I have written to remind my future self to remain present and not lose myself down that dark path again.”

Although spearheaded by frontman and songwriter Matt Wall, the band are a collective of incredibly talented musicians, offering proficiency and finesse to the final product, guiding them to attract attention worldwide.

Before the worldwide pandemic, The Human Veil had played shows with bands such as Silent Planet, Lotus Eater, Betraying The Martyrs, Landmarks, Novelists, For The Fallen Dreams, Make Them Suffer, From Sorrow To Serenity, God Complex and many more before supporting rising British tech-metal band Borders during their album release tour in May 2019.

The Human Veil have also appeared at popular UK festivals such as UK Tech-Metal Festival and Techibiliation.
