IRAVERA - Blur the Lines of Djent and Metalcore on New Single

Ohio-based progressive metal band Iravera has shared a new lyric video for their latest single "Heavy." The title does not disappoint, as the track provides a diverse onslaught of Djent riffs, harsh screams, and adventurous breakdowns that should make any genre gatekeeper nod their head in approval.

"It's a song about losing someone in your life that meant the world to you," says clean vocalist Nick Figley. "This could be a death in the family or a bad breakup but either way, we all feel that emptiness inside that seems like it will never go away because that person isn't around anymore."

Established in 2019, Iravera's energetic and explosive sound revolves around the talents of Figley, Mikey Wrightson (harsh vocals), Alex Finch (bass), Shane Grim (guitar), and Tyler Bailey (guitar). Due to the diversity of their influences, their early heterogeneous singles "Wait For You" and "Under Your Spell" put the ever increasing list of metal sub-genres to the test while reaching depths of melody and intensity that others merely suggest.

Dipping from the well of universally loved grunge bands, which can be found in their cover of the Alice in Chains track “Them Bones,” to the technical brutality of contemporary progressive metal and rock bands such as Monuments and Issues. Iravera has unveiled a hooky, massive, “punch to the face” oeuvre in just 6 months since their conception. Leaving fans and peers anxiously waiting for what holds for them in the future.
