INERTIA - Step It Up With New Single "Heavy Eyes", Announce Highly Anticipated EP "Connexion" and Are Heading Out On Tour To Celebrate!

Sydney post-hardcore outfit Inertia have proven themselves a force to be reckoned with - with the drop of their brand new single "Heavy Eyes". The new track comes as the first offering from highly anticipated upcoming EP 'Connexion', set for release Friday April 17! As if brand new Inertia wasn't quite enough, the quintet will be teaming up with Adelaide rock lords Alt. and Melbourne's heavy music sweethearts To Octavia for a trifecta headliner visiting Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide in late April.

Inertia have been creeping towards the forefront of Australia's heavy community over the last few months and are unleashing their boldest single to date. With vocals comparable to that of Northlane's Marcus Bridge and Issues' Tyler Carter as well as instrumentation by some of the best in the game, Inertia are in prime positioning to follow in the wake of Australian heavyweights to the likes of Northlane, Polaris and Thornhill.

The new single "Heavy Eyes" builds on the foundations created by previous singles "Into The Grey" and "Savoir (To Know)" by leading the music in a 'pop-metal' direction and as vocalist Julian Latouche explains: "I wanted to steer the band towards a more vocal forward pop sensibility without losing everything that I loved about [previous EP] 'Unlearn' and I feel as though we have achieved that with this song. "Heavy Eyes" is the perfect culmination of everyone’s talents in Inertia".

"The vocals and lyrics of "Heavy Eyes" were inspired by all the classic emo bands I grew up listening to, songs with lyrics that have heart and are delivered straight to the point with the right energy" tells Latouche. "This song tackles my perspective of watching someone I love and care about deal with the day to day struggles of mental illness. It’s all about that feeling of helplessness - but also having that drive to try and do whatever you can to help."

Inertia is Julian Latouche (vocals), Mark Williamson (guitar), Jesse Radloff (guitar), Oliver Smith (bass) and Jay Cusack (drums). Since their 2017 EP 'Unlearn', Inertia have been busy making a name for themselves in the alternative music scene, having shared the stage with genre favourites including Dream On Dreamer, Ocean Grove, Slaves (US), Thornhill, Void Of Vision, Story Of The Year (US), The Getaway Plan and many more. Late 2018 welcomed Latouche (ex-Oh/Villain) as the new vocalist at the helm and together the band delivered two huge singles and have been working towards their heavily anticipated follow-up EP 'Connexion', set to turn heads!

The Sydney-based quintet have made a lasting impression having crafted a sound that blends heavy metalcore riffs with energetic yet catchy melodic vocals, layering their own brand of creativity atop all the best elements of post-hardcore. Stay tuned for chapter two, coming very soon! In the meantime, "Heavy Eyes" is out now and available on all streaming platforms.
