Florida-based hardcore crossover outfit, Mindfield, shared their latest single “Sacrifice of the Skin”, today via a premiere with Revolver. The second track from their self-titled EP is heavy hitting in both sound and lyrical content, as the song deals with depression and the struggles with mental health. Between their sinister riffs and precision drumming it’s no wonder Mindfield will turn some heads when their new self-titled EP drops on September 20th. The band has also announced a string of midwest tour dates with By Force that can be found below.
Speaking on the track, Nick Troupe (Vocals) says,
"Sacrifice of the Skin has to deal with all of us who struggle with mental health/suicidal thoughts, one of the main lyrical themes for this band. September is National Suicide Prevention Month. The sad reality is we’ve all lost people to suicide, and mental health needs to be talked about more. Check on your friends/loved ones and tell them that you love them."
The Jacksonville, Florida quartet originally formed in 2015 and are heavily influenced by the likes of Merauder, All Out War, and Sepultura. Quickly following the release of their first EP, Perpetual Suffering, the band took to the road with All Out War and Incited. In the summer of 2018, they released their sophomore EP Void of Illuminance which built the foundation of their tasteful crossover appeal - best shown on the title track featuring guest vocals from Jon Whittle of Vatican. Since then, they have embarked on tours with Hoods and Lowered A.D. and appeared on a handful of fests in the U.S. They are set to release their new EP September 20th and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
