THE BRAVE - Reveal New Video “Burn” And Celebrate Release Of Gritty And Vulnerable New Album “Aura”

Following the storming success of their recent singles "Technicolor" and "Desolation", Brisbane five-piece The Brave return with the full force of their new album, "Aura" (purchase/stream it here). The record serves up moody, genre-bending metalcore, doused in weight. Coupled with a new video for album track "Burn", The Brave continue to cement themselves as one of the most forward-thinking and exciting bands in the current heavy music landscape.

From the raging urgency of "Above The Clouds", to the swirling guitars and melodic vocals on "Ethereal", "Aura" is a bold and delicate blend described by Hysteria Magazine as "gritty, vulnerable and full of visceral emotion". Vocalist Nathan Toussaint explains that The Brave wanted to celebrate the spirit of connection on their anticipated second album.

“We all believe in auras, whether it be the auras that surround the people we meet during our travels, or the ones surrounding the places we visit either on tour or in our personal lives. It's these same auras that draw us back to these places we visit or allow us to develop relationships with new people we meet and connect with along the way. The same applies to the music we write and the aura that it carries with it", he says.

On the track "Burn", Toussaint explains: “This is a song that deals with loss, whether that’s the loss of a relationship, or the death of a person”, he says. “For us, it touches on dealing with the situation of a person close to us who was going through some incredibly tough times with a family member. As the song came together we tried not to be too obvious in what the lyrics were about, and opted for a more overarching theme of loss and learning to let go”.

Formed in 2013, The Brave quickly started spinning heads when their 2014 EP "Endless" captured their particular brand of lightning in a bottle. Their critically acclaimed debut full-length "Epoch" followed in 2016, which won plaudits worldwide from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Kerrang!, triple j and more. Threading universal themes of change, love and loss throughout with poise and command, "Aura" takes that groundwork and builds on it in striking fashion.
