AMERICAN STANDARDS - Release Chaotic New Song ‘Phantom Limb’; Announce Tour Dates

Phoenix, Arizona’s American Standardshave unleashed a completely unhinged new single titled “Phantom Limb”which premiered on Metal Injection.

The song mixed by Kevin Antreassian of The Dillinger Escape Planat Backroom Studios (Foxy Shazam, The Armed) continues to push the dynamics of the experimental hardcore band, while hearkening back to familiar sounds of early 2000’s and late ‘90s screamo and metalcore. Frantic melodies and shifting time signatures are paired with expressive, dual vocals that bring their own unique personality and character. The chaos echoes mathcore pioneers such as Converge, The Chariot, Every Time I Dieand The Bled.

"We’re always pushing ourselves to do something different. With Phantom Limb, it was taking a traditional song structure and turning it upside down into something that sounds a bit schizophrenic upon first listen.”

Says Brandon Kellum, the front man for American Standards.

“The song is about challenging what it means to belong.”
