Afterlife is celebrating the release of their debut album "Breaking Point", released on January 11th. On the release, front man Tyler Levenson shares: “I was able to talk about subjects that are incredibly personal to me and subjects that need addressing in the world through many tracks on this album. We believe that this album has something for everyone. We tried to grasp every genre and make it into something that has never been done before and we believe that ‘Breaking Point’ is just that”. "Breaking Point" is available to stream and purchase at http://smarturl.it/afterlifebp.
Following up their fast and in-your-face "Vicious Cycle" EP, the highly anticipated album ambitiously tackles a variety of impactful topics from mental health and domestic assault to political apathy and the weight of guilt over the course of 10 unique tracks that blend influences like Slipknot, Linkin Park and modern hip-hop. "Breaking Point" is the band’s debut album and their first release on Hopeless Records. “We are so excited that ‘Breaking Point’ is finally here! We spent so much time to make sure that these songs were perfect and our producers Zakk Cervini and Zach Jones really helped to bring us to a place that we only dreamed of musically and we couldn’t have done it without them. Thank you to Hopeless Records for believing in our vision, allowing us to create the best record possible and most importantly THANK YOU to the fans who without you this wouldn’t be possible!”.
Fans were treated to singles like “Holding On”, “Giving Back The Pain”, "Sacrifice" and “Throat”, which have all seen incredible success at streaming with adds to Spotify’s Rock Hard, New Core and New Blood playlists, Amazon’s Fresh Hard Rock and The Forge UK playlists and Pandora’s New Rock station. Additional support from BBC Radio 1, Kerrang!, idobi Howl and Alternative Press as well as multiple Number 1 spots on Sirius XM Octane has helped propel Afterlife into headphones of listeners around the world.
Afterlife, made up of vocalist Tyler Levenson, guitarist Andrew McGuire, drummer Luke Walkinshaw and bassist Tristan Edwards - emerged from West Palm Beach, Florida at the tail end of 2016 with a clear vision of what they wanted to bring to the world with their music. “We talked about what we find in music that’s nostalgic and memorable and implemented that into what we felt was true to us and just started from there”, Levenson says of the band’s formation.
Blending singing, screaming and rapping over a heavy, yet satisfyingly melodic landscape for a unique sound coupled with socially conscious lyrics, Afterlife are poised to influence this generation of heavy music.
