THE SURVIVAL CODE - Reveal New Video "Crawl"

THE SURVIVAL CODE are preparing for the eagerly anticipated release of their sophomore album, Hopelessness Of People, which arrives on Friday 31st August, through Good Deeds Music Ltd. The alt-rockers have also just dropped a new video for "Crawl".

THE SURVIVAL CODE are a highly impressive rock duo based in London, with a front-man from Dublin. Combining passion, outstanding musicianship, and raucous live performances, the twosome deliver concise burly rock cuts that strike and ignite your senses. The band have garnered support from many industry tastemakers, picking up coverage from Rock Sound Magazine, as well as firm radio support from Kerrang! Radio and Planet Rock.

The guys, however, have certainly had their share of setbacks. Ever since Dubliner Gary McGuinness (vocals/guitar) formed the band on his arrival to London in 2011, there has been a revolving door of bass players, management conflicts, and production delays. Thankfully, he’s had Tom Cook as a mainstay drummer since the band’s early beginnings. Working with producer Matt Hyde (Trivium, Slipknot, Ash), THE SURVIVAL CODE released their debut album, MMXV, as a trio in 2015, and to much acclaim, with Vulture Hound citing it as an: “Astonishingly tight, realised and mature debut”. Three singles were plucked from the record, with the track, Living a Lie, stimulating the greatest visibility for the band. 2017’s Broken Strings EP followed, and this release marked a significant shift in the duo’s trajectory. The first single of the same name received heavy radio rotation on Planet Rock and Kerrang!, along with increased interviews and exposure leading to the band playing Camden Rocks.

Trimming from a trio to a two-piece, Gary and Tom opted for the less is more approach for their 2nd album. The pair have always been the nucleus of the band, and a renewed focus and direction helped the twosome to channel their full attention to crafting the best album possible. The fresh approach certainly worked, and, produced once more by Matt Hyde, Hopelessness Of People is a direct, stout statement packed with groove, dynamics and killer hooks. The first single, Not Working, with its powerful riffs and highly engaging songwriting, is a firm indication of what to expect from the new record. Their last single, Along The Way, has also been very well received, and with the arrival of their new single, "Crawl", as well as a raft of UK dates, the scene is finally set for THE SURIVIAL CODE’s relaunch.
