MOTOGRATER - Everybody Just Quit Except Matthew Nuke Nunes

It would appear that every member of Motograter has quit, leaving Matthew “Nuke” Nunes the only remaining member. The guitarist has had many issues in the past and it seems that with the revolving door of members, and Nunes being the only consistent member for quite some time, it stands to reason he is the root of the problem.

As you may have seen recently, the band was making a MASSIVE comeback. They had a solid lineup, recorded an amazing album, were on the billboard charts, released a badass music video, and completed a bunch of insane tours. Then… Nuke went back to all his old habits that have held the band back in the past.

The band has suffered a long history of line-up changes and bad blood. Former vocalist, Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch Fame, quit the band onstage in 2006 at the Delicious Rox Festival and made it perfectly clear to fans and band members alike that he was finished with the band.

In 2011, the entire line-up of Michael “Angel” Woodruff, Mark Nosler, Tyler Hole and Jeremy “Twitch” Scheller quit the band and unveiled their new project, RIVEN, siting violent behavior and drug use on the part of Matt Nunes. Nunes was famously ejected from the band during the 2003 Ozzfest Tour, due to drug use and erratic behavior.

Recently, the band’s drummer Noah “Shark” Robertson accused Nunes of violent behavior and drug use. His full statement can be read here:

Motograterist, Dustin Anderson, also left the band recently stating, “It’s great to be home for good. Live your life for yourself. Life’s too short to work for nothing just to give someone else a leg up. Don’t be mistaken in your existence.”

Nunes also fired his long time bassist, Mylon Guy, via social media recently. Guy stated publicly, “I didn’t quit anything. Motograter means too much for me to quit. I just read on here yesterday that I won’t be coming back. Like really? Wtf. This is what happens to you when you have a family tragedy to deal with. You get kicked out of your own fucking band and they don’t even have the balls to tell you. You have to read it on the internet!!! Nice nuke. You are a class act bud.”

After losing its core members, the group attempted to complete a tour this past month, that was riddled with problems and canceled shows. The band wrecked their tour vehicle and trailer which caused canceled dates and Nunes went to jail as well, bragging about it via social media, which caused the cancellation of performances.

The band’s official website has been turned into a “tribute” of sorts to the troubled guitarist:
