HOME FESTIVAL 2016 - The Prodigy Are Coming

The British trio that made the world aware of the big beat, chose the Home Festival stage for their return to Italy. Meanwhile international names within the lineup are increasing.

After recent announcements of new artists who will perform at Home Festival, including the Eagles of Death Metal and Vinicio Capossela, to enhance and complete the headliner line-up for Friday, 2nd September, a year after the release of “The Day Is My Enemy” comes a confirmation of global importance: the Prodigy.

The British trio that revolutionized music with a combo of electronic, rock and dance, returns to Italy after a tour that will touch many world festivals, from the Strawberry in China to the Hurricane in Germany, from the Exit in Serbia to the Qstock in Finland.

In March 2015 they were back and angrier than ever after giving birth to the new record and explosive chapter “The Day Is My Enemy”. An album with six years of gestation, recorded and composed during the tour, in flight or at the afer-parties with the constant that characterizes The Prodigy since the dawn: anger and pure adrenaline. Says the leader Liam Howlett: “I have always seen the music I like as a form of attack. I did not plan the violent sound of the album, it simply is the sound that comes out of the studio. The sound of The Prodigy”.

Friday, 2nd September then, after the previously announced Alborosie, Modestep, Rumatera, Il Teatro degli Orrori and Dub Fx, The Prodigy will leave a mark on the HF audience through their overwhelming all different performances, but each of them full of catalytic energy charges.

These are the numbers of attendees of the past editions: 27,000 in 2010, 55,000 in 2011, 85,000 in 2012, 107,000 in 2013 (last year in which HF had free entry), 70,000 in 2014 (€ 5 entry), 80,000 in 2015 (€ 15 entry). Home Festival is an event that combines music (on the main stage, among others, played Franz Ferdinand, Paul Kalkbrenner, Francesco De Gregori, Interpol, Subsonica, Elio e Le Storie Tese, Fedez, Pelù, J-ax, Simple Plan and the Bloody Beetroots) to art and entertainment and it is spread over an area of 95,000 square meters.

Some 2015 edition memories: 8 stages, 160 shows, including live music, DJ sets, book presentations and cultural debates, 20.000sq m of commercial buildings, from the 20 food booths to the handmade market, 30 associations, the vinyl record fair, the sports area, the funfair, and the art exhibitions. Home Festival is the best example at a national level of aggregation and cultural exchange between people, an event that generates induced economic impact in many industries and that will become a center of international tourist attraction due to its proximity to Venice.
