MOUTH CULTURE Release First New Music Of A New Era With Poignant Single “Growing Pains"

Mouth Culture have released their first new music of 2026, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Leicester trio.

Their poignant new single 'Growing Pains', out today via Killabop, captures the balancing act at the heart of the band's journey so far - chasing something you believe in while trying to hold onto everything else around it.

At its core, "Growing Pains" is about walking the wire between ambition and the rest of your life. As the band has grown, so too have the pressures, responsibilities and relationships surrounding it. The song comes from that push and pull - wanting to give everything to the thing you've spent years building, while becoming more aware of what that commitment can ask of you.

Bassist Todd Groome explains: "There's more to balance now than there was when we started. You want to give everything to the band, but you've also got relationships, family, friends and everything else happening around it. Sometimes those things pull against each other and you don't always get it right. I think we're all learning what chasing this actually asks of you."

Vocalist Jack Voss adds: "None of us have done this before, so we're learning as we go. Being away from home, relationships, spending more and more time on the band, you're trying to work out how all of those things can exist together. You also realise that how something feels to you isn't necessarily how it feels to the person on the other side of it.”

Guitarist Mason Clifford sees the song as ultimately hopeful: “There's struggle in it, but it's a hopeful song. It's that feeling that what you're working towards is just about within reach, even when getting there isn't straightforward."

That tension sits at the heart of "Growing Pains" - the feeling of being caught somewhere between where you've come from and where you're trying to get to, and choosing to keep moving regardless.

Mouth Culture are an alternative three-piece from Leicester who've cultivated a loyal following, that's forever growing stronger, through their knack for writing a supremely singalong chorus and their ability to put on an explosive live show. Kerrang! noted they have “the sort of supercharged intensity that makes a band stand out from the pack.” NME lauded them as a must-see at Reading & Leeds Festival, saying the band “..already have stadium-rock ballads, sharp commentary on masculinity, and mosh pit mayhem." Rock Sound excitedly proclaimed “The rise and rise of Mouth Culture, from the UK underground's best-kept secret to genuine scene contenders, continues to be a joy to behold." And now they've appeared on the cover of Rock Sound's British summer issue.

2025 saw Mouth Culture build on that momentum with a number of high-profile support slots alongside their own sold-out headline tour, culminating at The Garage in London. 2026 has pushed things further still, beginning with an extensive UK headline tour before a summer that took them to some of their biggest festival stages yet, including Download Festival, Rock am Ring, Rock im Park and 2000Trees. Next year, the band will head back across the UK for a huge run of dates with South Arcade.

Mouth Culture also released a handful of singles throughout 2025 that have quickly become live favourites, including the acerbic ‘Ratbag’ and driving ‘On and On’. Their wider discography includes 'These Days Mixtape’ (2021), '‘Mishaps Of My Mid Twenties’ EP (2023) and ‘Whatever The Weather’ EP (2024).

Across those releases, the band have continued to sharpen their sound and songwriting, earning support from BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio, alongside Rock Sound and Kerrang!

With "Growing Pains", Mouth Culture now turn the page on what came before and set the tone for what comes next.
