German modern metalcore outfit HOSTAGE continue the rollout toward their upcoming EP Clarity with “messiah,” a new track presented through a lyric video. Set for release on November 13, 2026, Clarity follows the band’s ongoing evolution after The Search, expanding their combination of crushing modern metalcore, atmospheric textures, and emotionally charged songwriting. The new EP is officially listed as a five-track release and will be distributed by Warner Music Central Europe, with “unravel” and “vessel” already revealed ahead of the full release.
“messiah” arrives during a particularly active period for HOSTAGE, who have been steadily building their next chapter throughout 2026. Their recent releases “unravel” and “vessel” have continued the band’s progression from the material found on The Search, while their established sound combines modern metalcore with post-hardcore and nu-metal influences. HOSTAGE have previously explored themes including isolation, anger, self-discovery, and the search for clarity, giving their music an emotionally direct foundation alongside its heavier musical attack.
The forthcoming Clarity EP represents the next stage of that journey, following HOSTAGE’s debut album MEMENTO MORI and the subsequent The Search release. Based in Cologne, Germany, the band have developed an increasingly expansive approach that allows heavy riffs, raw vocals, and atmospheric elements to coexist within their sound.
