German heavy hitters CONSVMER return with “Willenlos,” a new track featuring fellow German hardcore outfit DOGBITE and taken from the band’s upcoming third album, Abgrund, due September 25, 2026 via Out Of Line Music. The song arrives with an official music video and follows a series of singles leading into the record, which explores themes including addiction, identity, societal collapse, and the darker impulses that can drag individuals and communities toward the abyss. “Willenlos” adds another heavy piece to that picture, focusing on dissociation and the gradual erasure of identity.
The track wastes little time once its opening atmosphere has done its work. After roughly 40 seconds of introduction, CONSVMER launch straight into downtempo heaviness, with thick, dragging rhythms and squelching guitar lines giving “Willenlos” an especially grimy and oppressive character. The slower pace makes every hit feel heavier, while the German-language delivery reinforces the bleak atmosphere running through the song.
DOGBITE’s appearance adds another dimension to the track, bringing the German hardcore outfit into CONSVMER’s increasingly dark world. “Willenlos” sits as the ninth track on Abgrund, surrounded by songs dealing with subjects ranging from collective collapse and greed to addiction and abandonment. Across the album’s eleven tracks, CONSVMER continue to push their combination of progressive metal, beatdown, and metalcore into darker territory, with their new vocalist Jacques Gronert now at the helm.
With “Willenlos,” CONSVMER deliver a track that feels deliberately suffocating rather than simply fast and aggressive. The long introduction, crushing downtempo section, filthy guitar work, and contribution from DOGBITE all feed into the song’s sense of identity slowly disappearing beneath an overwhelming weight. Abgrund arrives September 25, and if “Willenlos” is any indication, CONSVMER are preparing an album that intends to drag its listeners directly into the abyss.
