Newly surfaced footage has reignited controversy surrounding the relationship between Edsel Dope and the late Wayne Static, with comments that many fans are likely to find shocking.
A newly leaked video shared by documentary filmmaker Matt Zane appears to feature Edsel Dope confirming that the Frankenstein-style cartoon character featured in Static-X's "Zombie" music video was intended as a parody of Wayne Static.
The footage, which Zane says recently came into his possession, was published on his official Instagram account.
"I tried to tell people that Edsel and the other guys in the band were mocking Wayne and Tera in the video. No one believed me even though I worked within the newly reformed Static-X camp for over five years and was actually told what it was about. Finally you can hear Edsel himself confirm it," said Zane.
In the same footage, Edsel Dope is also heard making remarks about Wayne Static's struggles with addiction and his own future with Static-X.
