PAERISH Release New Song + Music Video For “Wait For Dark”

Paris, France - Paerish, the alternative rock band from Paris, France, has released a new single and music video for “Wait For Dark” today. The song is the first taste of new music since 2023’s ‘You're In Both Dreams (And You're Scared)’ and is a darker, energetic track that explores feelings of bitterness, exhaustion, and anger in the face of jealousy and personal conflict. This song and upcoming album were produced by Grammy award winning producer, Will Yip.

Sometimes in life and at work, you come across people who make it quite clear that they don’t like you, which isn’t a problem in itself, but occasionally, those people will go out of their way to harm you or prevent you from living your life normally,” says guitarist and vocalist Mathias Court, on the new song. “The reasons vary, and so do the lies. Wait for Dark is about a confrontation with one of these individuals, the search for a motive, and the bitterness and jealousy involved. The protagonist expresses a mix of exhaustion and anger toward the whole situation, simply wanting to move forward and leave it behind.”

In Paerish fashion, the music video that accompanies the song is a cinematic companion. Founding members of the band met at film school, and each music video is approached as a short film, built around narrative, mood, and visual storytelling that expands the world of the song.

Paerish is composed of Mathias Court (guitar/vocals), Frédéric Wah (guitar), Martin Dupraz (bass), and Loïc Fouquet (drums). The band is signed to SideOneDummy Records and have released the albums ‘Fixed It All’ (2023) and ‘You're In Both Dreams (And You're Scared)’, available for streaming. Both albums received significant critical acclaim and put them on the radar, both at home and in the US, that few French rock bands can claim to have experienced. Combined, the three albums that have been released have accrued over 25 million streams, and the band have toured or played shows with Silversun Pickups, Sum 41, Teenage Wrist, PUP, Alkaline Trio, Movements, Tigers Jaw and Superheaven.

More to come from Paerish this year.
