OMEGA DIATRIBE Premiere Brand New Single and Video “Deadlock"

Following the international success of their critically acclaimed 2023 album Deviant, Budapest-based extreme groove metal outfit Omega Diatribe returns with a brand-new single, “Deadlock.”

The release marks the band's first recording with drummer Péter Gubicza, who joined Omega Diatribe in early 2025, and also introduces the group's newly streamlined four-piece lineup.

The band is currently in the middle of an extensive summer festival tour spanning 8 shows across 5 countries.

Gergő Hájer, founding guitarist of Omega Diatribe, commented on the new release:

“Since the release of Deviant in December 2023, we've been touring across Europe almost continuously, so we felt the time was right to bring out something new. The foundation of Deadlock was actually written during the Deviant sessions. The original plan was for the song to appear on that album, but we weren't able to finish it to the standard we wanted at the time, so we chose to focus on the other new material instead. We didn't want to rush the completion of Deadlock.

On our previous three releases, we had the privilege of working with renowned producers such as Danish producer Tue Madsen and Swedish producer Jens Bogren. However, for Deadlock, I took care of the production, recording, mixing, and mastering duties myself for the first time since 2015. It was an incredibly enjoyable and inspiring process. I'm very pleased with the final result and hope it will stand the test of time.”

The music video was produced by No Total Films, featuring cinematography by Dániel Széchenyi and directed by Márk Valach, who shared his thoughts on the project and working with the band:

“We first became friends with the guys at one of their shows in Szeged, where the idea of collaborating came up. The timing finally felt right to make it happen. They sent me the song and explained the lyrical concept, which immediately reminded me of Philip K. Dick's novel The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch. That book became a major source of inspiration for the visual narrative.

I can confidently say that this was one of our favorite shoots of the year. The atmosphere throughout the production was fantastic. We spent two days in Budapest: one day filming the storyline sequences in an apartment location, and the second day shooting the band's performance scenes in a studio.”

“Deadlock” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
