BRUTAL ASSAULT 2026 Announces Full Line-Up and Is Rapidly Approaching a Sell-Out"

The Josefov Fortress will once again transform into the epicenter of global extreme music. The organizers of the prestigious Brutal Assault festival are proud to announce that the line-up for this year's edition is officially complete. The only minor exception is the last few names that will fill the experimental and electronic KAL stage (Keep Ambient Lodge) in the coming days. However, with this final announcement comes a crucial warning for all hesitant fans: festival tickets are vanishing and there is a threat that sales will end faster than a grindcore song. If you want to be there, you are down to your last chance to buy.

The five-day metal marathon, which annually attracts tens of thousands of fans from all over the world to the unique premises of the 18th-century military fortress, offers one of the most genre-diverse programs in its history this year. Across five stages, genre legends, hot contemporary icons, and exclusive musical projects will take turns.

Program Recap: From Tuesday's Warm-Up to the Saturday Finale

The festival's dramaturgy for this year is designed to build up from the very first moment to the Saturday finale. Each festival day is balanced both thematically and genre-wise, bringing major names of the international scene.

Tuesday (Warm-up): The festival grounds will open on Tuesday, featuring a traditional warm-up party for the most impatient. An uncompromising start will be delivered by The Laws performing Sarcófago, joined by funeral-doom masters of slow riffs Ahab and the deathcore storm of Filth.

Wednesday: The first full festival day promises an energetic ride. The main attractions will be modern progressive metallers Periphery, avant-garde darkness from Tom G. Warrior's workshop Triptykon, the uncontrolled thrash metal rocket Municipal Waste, and emotional, sludge post-metal delivered by Belgian visionaries Amenra.

Thursday: Thursday night will be dominated by one of the biggest sensations of this edition—the crossover-thrash legend Body Count feat. ICE-T. Alongside them, the fortress will experience the death metal uncompromisingness of Deicide, Finnish melodic masters Amorphis, and a truly exceptional, exclusive performance by Waltari, who will play their album Yeah! Yeah! Die! Die! Death Metal Symphony in Deep C accompanied by a full symphony orchestra.

Friday: Friday will bring genre diversity and instrumental genius. Cult, funk-metal aliens Primus will arrive in Josefov. A unique set is promised by the Icelandic black metal elite in the project Misþyrming and Nergal plays Behemoth`s Sventevith, Swedish rap-metal veterans Clawfinger are guaranteed to get the crowd boiling, and technical perfection will be showcased by progressive-metal wizards Animals as Leaders.

Saturday: The final day of the festival will belong to the absolute climax. The program will offer the dark gothic legend Cradle of Filth, Nordic ritual ambient by the mesmerizing Wardruna, epic fathers of doom metal Candlemass, and a massive wave of modern hardcore from America's The Ghost Inside.

The Biggest Names of the 2026 Edition: Unique Fusions and Genre Milestones Looking at this year's headliner roster, it is clear that Brutal Assault 2026 relies on exclusivity. Alongside the high-energy performances of Body Count, progressive icons Periphery, or prog-metal's Animals as Leaders, the organizers managed to secure performances that do not happen every day on European stages.

The combination of Icelandic ferocity with old material from Polish icons in the Misþyrming and Nergal plays Behemoth`s Sventevith set promises a black mass that will be remembered for a long time. The connection of the wild crossover Finnish stalwarts Waltari with a symphony orchestra shows that the festival is not afraid to break boundaries and bring fans artistic experiences of the highest caliber. Add to that the presence of British gothic veterans Cradle of Filth, who will bring their grand, darkened show full of iconic hits to the fortress, and it is completely clear why the demand for tickets is so enormous.

Rich Food Zone: A Gastronomic Paradise for Meat-Eaters and Vegans Brutal Assault has long been about more than just music—it has become a comprehensive experience where visitor comfort plays a vital role. The festival's culinary zone ranks among the best you can experience at European open-air events.

This year, the food zone is expanding again and will offer an extremely diverse selection of meals from around the world. A huge emphasis on variety is a matter of course: lovers of classic festival meat (burgers, BBQ ribs, pulled meat) as well as followers of a healthy lifestyle will find their fit. Brutal Assault is renowned for its above-standard offer for vegans and vegetarians, which includes everything from plant-based burgers and Asian wok pans to Indian specialties and vegan desserts. A wide selection of gluten-free options will also be available. Visitors will be able to quench their thirst with dozens of types of beer on tap, from classic lagers to craft specialties from microbreweries.

Strong Accompanying Program: Art, History, and Chill-Out Zones The uniqueness of the festival is highlighted by the very environment of the fortress, which the organizers utilize to the maximum for the accompanying program. Visitors who want to take a break from the constant sonic pressure on the main stages can visit a whole range of non-musical attractions:

Art Galleries and Exhibitions: In the underground casemates and corridors of the fortress, dark exhibitions, sculptures, and paintings by international artists associated with the metal subculture will be on display.

Horror Cinema and Literary Readings: For moments of relaxation, a festival cinema will be prepared with a showcase of cult horror movies, B-movies, and documentaries, complemented by author readings.

Fortress Underground: Fans have the opportunity to take guided tours of the historical underground labyrinth of the Josefov fortress by candlelight.

KAL Stage (Keep Ambient Lodge): This stage will offer deep ambient, noise, dark electronics, and industrial projects—an ideal place for spiritual cleansing and calming the mind.

Meet & Greet: Traditional and extremely popular signing sessions with selected bands right inside the festival grounds.

Tickets Are Vanishing Before Your Eyes – Don't Miss the Last Chance

This year's edition of the festival is accompanied by a massive avalanche of interest in tickets. According to a statement from the organizing team, only the last few percent of the total capacity of the grounds remain in the official pre-sale. The historic fortress has strict limits that cannot be exceeded for safety and comfort reasons. Everything indicates that the festival will be completely sold out in the coming weeks and no tickets will be available on-site.
