ROADRUNNER RECORDS recently welcomed THEBOYSHADOW, featuring former Loathe guitarist Connor Sweeney, to the label's roster.

"Bliss Being" is the artist's left turn from the sonically ultra-violent debut single "GIVE ME A SEAM & I'LL SHOW YOU THE MEANING," which is two minutes of raw fury — like steel gnashing against steel, punctuated by moody dynamics mid-song. "Bliss Being" is a roomier and airier track. It's masterfully mid-tempo and much more melodic, until the final third of the song, where things erupt viciously before reverting to softer sounds. It's a gloriously unpredictable track.
TheBoyShadow's debut was met with near-universal praise. RockSound proclaimed it "as much dizzying hardcore as ethereal shoegaze, it's one hell of an opening gambit." Revolver selected it as one of its essential songs of the week, saying, "Furious rhythms and depraved, noise-pressed guitar dissonance, Sweeney launching a series of monstrous shrieks above the fracas. But the song also swerves through choppy, speaker-panning production twitches, moshes itself through moments where an orchestra of guitars sound like a swarm of bees, and then a gloomy, melodic chorus seriously brings the boom." Kerrang! declared it "brutal."
TheBoyShadow has been a work in progress for the past four years, during which the artist turned introspection into fuel for his art. He processed his demons and was able to funnel them into the songs, surrounded by fellow artists who feel like family.
TheBoyShadow performed its first show ever at Camden Assembly in London on April 6. The band also wrapped a tour supporting PRESIDENT's sold-out run.
