German dark gothic metal outfit LORD OF THE LOST step off the stage and into a more personal setting with their appearance on Bus Invaders Ep. 2197, part of Digital Tour Bus’ long-running series. Filmed during the “Dark Winter Tour” alongside The Birthday Massacre and Wednesday 13, the episode offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at life on the road as the band continues to support their latest releases Opvs Noir Vol. 1, Vol. 2, and Vol. 3.
Guided by guitarist Pi Stoffers, viewers are taken inside the band’s current tour bus—one they had only just switched to days prior after their previous vehicle suffered a breakdown, including a failed heating system in the middle of winter. The unexpected setback adds context to the tour’s realities, with Stoffers highlighting how essential comfort becomes when conditions turn against you on the road.
Inside the bus, the tour setup reflects both practicality and personality. From a lounge area equipped with dual TVs—rarely used, aside from a recent movie night—to a well-stocked selection of snacks and essentials, the space balances function and downtime. A large stash of M&M’s gets a special mention, revealing frontman Chris Harms’ well-known fondness for them, while healthier options like fruit, nuts, and protein supplements sit alongside classic tour treats like Skittles and Haribo. The presence of a fully equipped coffee machine and an impressively stocked fridge emphasizes the importance of routine and comfort during long stretches between shows.
The tour bus walkthrough continues into the sleeping quarters, where spacious bunks offer some level of rest amidst the chaos, before moving into the back lounge—home to blankets purchased during the heating mishap, fan gifts, and the operational hub of tour manager Brian. While the bus includes a shower, the band largely relies on venue facilities, reserving onboard amenities for their crew.
Bus Invaders Ep. 2197 captures more than just a tour vehicle—it offers a snapshot of life behind the performances. From unexpected challenges to everyday routines, LORD OF THE LOST invite fans into the reality of the road, where comfort, connection, and adaptability are just as important as the show itself.
