FAKEYOURDEATH Push Further Into The Void With ‘X/Y’

UK electronic/post-hardcore outfit FAKEYOURDEATH return with X/Y, the second offering from their upcoming EP (NON)ENTITY, set for release on 13/03/26. Arriving with an official lyric video, the track follows the explosive first single Shapeshifter (released 06/02/26) and deepens the band’s fusion of industrial electronics and post-hardcore intensity.

Produced by Wayne Adams (Petbrick, Big Lad, Wasted Death), (NON)ENTITY marks a bold continuation of FAKEYOURDEATH’s sonic evolution. While Shapeshifter reintroduced their unique blend of punishing electronic textures and jagged post-hardcore aggression, X/Y expands the emotional and atmospheric scope even further. Mechanical pulses, distorted synth layers, and driving rhythms collide with raw, urgent vocals, creating a soundscape that feels claustrophobic yet cathartic.

Lyrically, X/Y dives into vulnerability beneath the noise. Vocalist Candi Underwood explains: “X/Y is a reflection on a desperate need for love. It explores how our own demons can taint our expectations and make us question whether we are worthy of it at all. It’s dark and it’s brutal, but it’s also hopeful. Sometimes you just have to let things go and that’s ok.” The official lyric video reinforces this emotional weight, placing the words front and center against a stark, industrial backdrop.

With X/Y, FAKEYOURDEATH sharpen their identity and push (NON)ENTITY toward a darker, more introspective horizon. If this is any indication of what’s to come on 13/03/26, the EP promises to be both sonically punishing and emotionally unfiltered.
