ATLAS Ascend With New Album ‘Sunder’ And Crushing Single ‘Tower’

Helsinki-based modern metal outfit ATLAS have officially released their highly anticipated new album Sunder today, February 20th, showcasing a commanding blend of Northcore intensity, modern metal dynamics, and melodic sensibilities. Leading the charge is the single Tower, a track that encapsulates the band’s ability to merge technical precision with raw emotional weight.

Tower opens with towering riffs and intricate rhythms, immediately establishing a dark, immersive atmosphere. The vocals alternate between piercing aggression and controlled melodic lines, perfectly complementing the song’s shifting intensity. Throughout the track, ATLAS demonstrates a keen sense of balance — crafting moments of crushing heaviness alongside soaring, memorable hooks that linger long after the song ends. The accompanying video enhances the experience, combining performance-focused visuals with cinematic touches that reflect the track’s epic scope and dark emotional undercurrents.

Sunder spans eight meticulously crafted tracks, including “Sermon of the Dying Light,” “Tower,” “Salt and Sulfur,” “I Whisper Your Name Like a Curse,” “Coven of Two,” “Altar of Your Love,” “Anodyne,” and the title track “Sunder.” Each composition showcases ATLAS’s mastery of dynamic songwriting, blending punishing riffs, intricate drum work, and atmospheric melodies that push modern metal to new heights. The album’s cohesive flow ensures a journey that is both relentless and immersive, with every track contributing to a dark, powerful narrative.

With Sunder and the standout single Tower, ATLAS reaffirm their status as one of Finland’s most exciting modern metal acts. The release combines technical skill, emotional depth, and unrelenting energy — a bold statement of intent that sets the tone for 2026 and cements the band’s presence on the international metal stage.
