BREAK FIFTY Sink Deeper Into Darkness With “Further From The Sun”

York-based nu-core outfit BREAK FIFTY have unleashed their latest single, “Further From The Sun,” accompanied by a new official music video. The track sees the UK outfit continuing to push their abrasive collision of nu-metal weight and hardcore aggression, building on the dark and uncompromising identity established throughout their earlier material. BREAK FIFTY have previously described their music through deeply personal themes, with their 2023 EP Every Scream Became A Whisper In The Dark exploring childhood trauma and the emotional aftermath surrounding it.

“Further From The Sun” arrives as another concentrated dose of the band's chaotic approach, where crushing heaviness meets the raw energy of hardcore and the rhythmic influence of nu-metal. Their songwriting has consistently embraced abrasive textures, unpredictable shifts and an atmosphere that feels deliberately uncomfortable, creating music that hits with as much emotional weight as physical force. The new single continues that trajectory while giving BREAK FIFTY another opportunity to push their sound forward. 

The York outfit have built their reputation around an uncompromising blend of styles, previously drawing together nu-metal and hardcore into a sound described as exceptionally dark and intense. Their 2023 EP featured tracks including “B50,” “I Still See You,” “Absence,” “A Red Glow” and “Dreamland,” the latter featuring guest vocals from Ben Mason of Bound In Fear and Pintglass. That release established the band's ability to move between outright aggression, darker atmosphere and more experimental nu-metal territory.

With “Further From The Sun,” BREAK FIFTY continue their descent into increasingly heavy territory, delivering another blast of nu-core intensity from the UK underground.
