H.E.R.O. Breaks Free From The Past With New Single 'Chemicals'

On H.E.R.O.'s previous album, ‘Alternate Realities’ from 2022, we got closer to the rock trio than ever before. With lead singer Christoffer Stjerne's personal lyrics about breaking away from his family and their religious beliefs, he, along with drummer Anders Kirkegaard and bassist Johan Wohlert, opened up a question that is also a central theme on the upcoming album and thus the band's latest single, 'Chemicals': "What do you do when you have felt torn, broken away from your family and everything you knew, and now find yourself in an entirely new place, yet still can't break free from the past? Like any other addiction, you know it's bad for you, but you can't let go," says Stjerne.

Longtime listeners will recognize the sound, but 'Chemicals' amps up the hard riffs and heavy expression even more. With an unorthodox clash between hard, punchy rock, catchy pop melodies, and a strong vocal that can control the grandiose instruments, H.E.R.O. has created a futuristic sound and secured an audience far beyond Denmark's borders.

It was in Japan that the band first broke through. After a spectacular concert at the sought-after Hokou Music Fest, and with a significant boost from popular radio host Masa Ito, the Japanese audience embraced H.E.R.O. Following a tour with guitar legend Slash, their breakthrough was complete, and last year they returned to the Land of the Rising Sun to perform at the Loud Park festival, where the dedicated Japanese fans once again gave them a fantastic reception.

In conjunction with the upcoming album, H.E.R.O. will embark on a major tour of Denmark, with stops including the Copenhagen venue Hotel Cecil. The album's second single, 'Chemicals,' is already available on all streaming platforms through Mermaid Records.
