A TRAGEDY AT HAND Shares Sleek New Single, "Waves"

Dallas, TX -- Heavy-rock band, A Tragedy At Hand, are sharing their powerful new single, "Waves," on December 5. The track follows swiftly behind the band's recently released track, "Shady Grove."

A Tragedy At Hand creates a glossy atmosphere with "Waves." The song tackles vulnerable themes while being draped in powerhouse melodies, making for an ear catching contrast.

"We have a band member going through a rough custody battle over their child resulted in a lot of built up emotions, and when working with our producer Richard Wicander were introduced to Elijah Barnett of Cane Hill who provided the core of the song itself. We felt this matched the intensity we were looking for and after collaborating with Elijah and Richard we made the song our own, and based the lyrics around the ups and downs of a long drawn out fight over a passion, love, or belief that anyone can hold dear or relate to. The song was originally titled This Is War but decided the more subtle approach of "Waves" fit the theme of back and forth turmoil more accordingly." - A Tragedy At Hand

Formed in Dallas, Texas in 2008, A Tragedy At Hand (ATAH) has become a staple in the Texas heavy music scene. Blending clean and screaming vocals with crushing riffs, melodic hooks, and breakdowns that shake the floor, ATAH creates a sound that is both aggressive and deeply emotive.

Drawing influence from bands like Bring Me The Horizon, In Flames, August Burns Red, Korn, Volumes, and Suicide Silence, they balance chaos and melody in a way that speaks directly to the struggles of their fans. Their debut EP In Case of an Emergency dropped in 2010, making waves in Hot Topic stores across Texas, California, and Los Angeles. Subsequent releases, including This Is The End (2012), Good Luck, You’ll Need It (2015), and the self-released album 11:34 in 2019, continued to build on their signature blend of melodic hooks, raw aggression, and lyrical themes of perseverance, alienation, and inner struggle.

The band has shared stages with major names in the scene—bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Attack Attack!, Asking Alexandria, Suicide Silence, A Day To Remember, Black Veil Brides, and many more. Today, ATAH continues to push forward, the weight of their name becoming more than just words, it’s a promise of catharsis, authenticity, and the power of heavy music to hold you together through your toughest moments.
