Originally hailing from Pella, Iowa, Syndrome of Fire came together as a band in 2010 and now consists of Cassie Goetzke (Vocals), Sonny Cutler (Keys), and Ryan McMahan (Guitars). The band's evolving sound consists of a nearly mystical marriage between rock and classical, which has brought a unique and fresh sound to the modern rock genre. Cutler, who spent 15 years studying classical piano, explains, "When I was in high school, I listened to a lot of metal/rock bands and classical music. Both genres are intricate, complex types of music that are very dramatic, and I'm naturally drawn to that." Ryan adds "Sonny and I share similar musical tastes; however, we write from opposite sides. He writes from a classical perspective and I write from a hard rock riff-driven viewpoint, which gives Syndrome of Fire an aggressive, unique sound." Cassie adds, “I grew up with the appreciation of classical music since my mother was an opera singer and my father a classical/jazz pianist; on my own, though, I embraced the world of rock as I discovered that raging guitars and hard-hitting rhythms helped me to express the intensity of my emotions unlike any other sound.”

Syndrome of Fire’s lyrics are written about life and the feelings that we face every day. Their mission is to provide hope for those who feel hopeless, love for those who haven’t found it, and a way for those that feel lost. Each member can describe a synergy that takes place when they make music together. Cassie says, “It makes it easy when you’re all best friends.” Known for their complex arrangements and live show improvisations, they put on a show that must be seen to be truly understood. Always a fan favorite, “The Letter” is the finale song for every concert and stands as a reminder to Syndrome of Fire of who they are and why they do what they do.

“Static”, their first EP debut, was released July 25, 2010. After gaining much attention in the Midwest, Syndrome of Fire worked with producer Larry Jones and released the single "Best of Me" in November 2010. In January of 2011, Syndrome of Fire signed their first record deal with Alien Patrol Records and released their second EP "I'm Alive" later that October. Syndrome of Fire, now unsigned by choice, moved to Nashville, TN in August of 2012 and is working on some of their largest projects to date with producer Noah Henson (Brantley Gilbert / Pillar). Their non-promoted single “Sins” was released in March of 2013 and caused the industry to see them in a whole new light. Their "Save Me From Myself" EP album was released in November 2013, and you can look forward to new radio singles being released in late 2015.
